A postmodern Lavalamp

Lavalamps are awesome right?

But in 2016 we have these amazing technologies like addressable LEDstrips, microcontrollers and a buzzing DIY electronics crowd.

Because of all that i made this lavalamp.

You are free to make your own, i might even send you the openScad file if you are interested, i just wont put it here because it is a mess. ;)

Wou will need to put something shiny in the lamp.

I used a 10mm aluminium rod and a usblinky kit [0].

Notes:

LAMP:
The lamp itself took about 60 hours to print.

Using 100% infill is important, also use CLEAR filament as it is a good light guide.

Use a brim for the lamp and no support structure.

STAND/SOCKET:

You dont need a brim for the stand but make sure to use build plate touching support material.

I used black filament, white might also look good.

Insert the Ledstrips

and attach the controller (usblinky[0] in my case).

Assmble stand and lamp..

..using 4 woodscrews (ca 3mm, 6-10mm length)
