Gridfinity is configurable. How about a configurable weighted baseplate?
I really liked Kyle Warren's screw together baseplate idea, and I love mcbillsan's snap together implementation. Just print a bunch of 1X1 baseplates and a bunch of clips and then assemble them to whatever size baseplate you want. If it doesn't work out, unclip them and reconfigure.
This design brings in the weighted baseplate dimensions from Zach Freedman's original weighted base plates, so all of the weight, magnet, and screw holes line up. This design also parameterizes the quantity of baseplates so if you want to print a custom sized plate instead of 1x1s, you can do so.
Print the clips from PETG. The baseplate parts can be PLA, but PLA clips distort and get loose over time.
Print the clips on their side (C shapes) for maximum strength.
Included is the Fusion 360 design file; Update the X_Quantity and Y_Quantity values to generate build plates of custom sizes. Due to the way Fusion 360 performs combine operations, after updating the size, you will need to re-select the bodies on the group operation in order for the keyholes to evaluate correctly on all sides. There's probably a better way of doing this, but I'm still just a baby when it comes to Fusion 360.
