Descrição
This is a stackable storage container for common button cell (coin cell) batteries designed for the Gridfinity organization system by ZackFreedman
This 1x1 Gridfinity bin has:
- 3x slots for CR20xx size batteries
- 1x slot for LR44/357 size batteries
- 1x slot for CR12xx size batteries (can also be used as a second LR44 slot, as it is only slightly larger)
- 1x slot to hold the helping wedge
STLs are provided for both standard height (1x1x6 units) and double height (1x1x12 units). The bases use Gridfinity Rebuilt's “magnet holes only” design.
While still allowing stacking with other containers, the standard height version's battery slots each allow 36mm worth of batteries and the double height version's slots allow 77mm. The number of batteries you can fit in each slot will of course depend on the size of the batteries you store.
The included ‘wedge’ is designed to be stored in the middle slot to keep handy and can be used to easily lift batteries out of the slots. It can also assist with getting batteries into the slots without them flipping or going sideways. Check the photos for an example!
I've included models with and without the embedded text at the bottom of the slots in case you don't like it.
Print settings:
- Typical Gridfinity settings. Low infill, no supports.
- Some walls are thin between the slots. Make sure you preview before printing to verify they are all connected!
- For the wedge specifically: I recommend either using a smaller layer height or enabling adaptive layer height just to ensure it actually comes out like a wedge!
The base containers were exported from Gridfinity Rebuilt, then modified using Fusion360 to add the holes/text/etc. The design was inspired by dhiltonp's model found here, just with different slots that are more useful for my needs. I've listed it as a remix of this as well, but technically it was not direct remix of that model.
UPDATE 3/24/24: Multiple people have reported this model for being dangerous. While I don't believe it's the fault of the model if a user shorts the circuit (which is a hazard with any battery holder of this style and even single batteries), I'll add a disclaimer:
USE OF THIS MODEL IS AT YOUR OWN RISK! Be sure not to print in a conductive filament or complete any of the circuits of stacked batteries. If you are concerned about any potential hazard, please insert material between your batteries (such as a small piece of paper or tape) or avoid using this model entirely.
