This is my fidget box. I know I'm a little late to the game with fidget toys, but I did this for fun and self-education mostly. It's by far the most complicated model I've created.

This box contains 7 fidgets:

  1. Bouncy cap
  2. Magnetic push/pull
  3. Clicky button
  4. Velcro toy
  5. Magnetic spinner
  6. Fidget spinner
  7. Box spinner
    ...and a multitude of magnets for extended fun.

All the parts are easily printable with very few overhangs.

You'll also need:

The fidget spinner, lid, mag spinner and bouncy cap are all printed in two parts to avoid overhangs. I usually print the two lid halves in a single color. But I like printing one half of the other parts (fidget spinner, mag spinner and bouncy cap) in one color and the other half in a second color. I suggest using a little sandpaper before gluing the halves together.

Push Pull – Put a magnet in each of the holes on the push/pull bar. Then put a magnet in each of the holes on the inside of the box. Make sure they line up to attract the magnets in the push/pull.

Clicky Button – You’ll have to cut the leads off of the button to make it fit in the hole correctly. You’ll also have to cut the rim off of the button, so it fits into the square hole. Just put a drop of glue one each side of the button housing and slide it into the box. Make sure you don’t push it to far it or it won’t work.

Bouncy Cap – Put a magnet in the provided 3mm hole in the outside half. Use it to lineup the two halves when you glue them together. Put one of the springs in the center of the spindle, then slide it into the box. Glue the retainer to the end of the spindle. Once it’s in place you should be able to turn the cap and the retainer should slip into the provided groove. If you want a little more bounce, use two springs coiled together.

Mag Spinner – As with the bouncy cap, use a magnet in the center of the mag spinner to line up the two halves for gluing. Put magnets in the provided holes on the end of the box. There are four holes on the spinner. I like to put magnets in two of the holes with the poles lined up to be attracted to the magnets you just put in the box. You can also put one or two additional magnets in the spinner. Align them to be attracted to the magnets in the box or flip them to be repelled. It’s up to you, experiment. Press one of the bearings into the hole on the end of the box. Then slide the mag spinner spindle into the bearing. Use one of the two spinner cap tops to secure it.

Fidget Spinner – Press one of the bearings into half of the fidget spinner. Use it to line up the second half for gluing. Press a ball bearing into each of the six holes. Glue a magnet to the ball in the top center of each end. On the bottom of the box put a magnet in each to the two holes near the center of the box. These will line up with the magnets on the fidget spinner and hold it in place.

Bottom – There are holes on the bottom of the box and the bottom cover for magnets. You can use them if you wish, but I prefer to just glue the bottom on.

Velcro Toy – Stick a piece of Velcro hooks on the box in the provided groove. Then cover the toy with the loops.
