This is a collection of pieces I printed for the bottom module section of the hydroponic tower, plus a mounting adapter (2 parts), a filling/inspection cap and a  cap for passing through the electrical cord for the pump.

All the parts have been printed with a 0.6 nozzle and at 0.3mm layer height.

I designed the electric cable cap, but the other parts are from the other contributors.

The electrical cord cap is designed as just a simple cap to pass the cable through.  You will need to cut off the electrical plug that comes with your pump and you will have to attach a new replacement plug.

This is a very durable and sturdy hydroponics tower design, but takes more time to print than the smaller ‘updated’ version.  

I have chosen to mount my towers on 60 litre poly drums (with ‘clip on’ removalable lids). These poly drums can hold up to 60 litres of nutrient per tower (but I only use 40 litres) and they give a better height from the ground for the tower, they are very stable when nutrient is added and they are cheap at about A$30, second hand.

I chose the mounting adapter as it is the most sturdy of the mounts I have tried, the tower does ‘wobble’ as much and they are easy to print.  I used 5mm stainless button head screws with s/s nyloc nuts to secure both parts to the drum lid.

Also, my towers are 8 planter modules high, plus the base module, so I needed something substantial to hold it in place on the nutrient reservoir drum, more reason for this mounting adapter.

I chose this bottom module as it had the large outlet that can be used for filling and it had the smaller outlet that could be used for the electrical cable.

I also chose to add a colour change to the planting pots which you can see with the ‘green’ pot and you can see the effect of different colours in the full towers I printed.  Just adds a bit more colour plus it saves me ‘numbering’ them.
