Thanks to everybody for all the nice feedback of my Vase design :-)

I decided to created several new Versions of the Vase and renamed the hole project “Polygon Spiral Vase”.

Now there are Versions with different shapes, rotations and “start” polygons.

All Variants are parametric designed with Grasshopper.
I would like to share the base design to ease remixing, but at the moment I'm not able to upload .gh files.

28th March 2020:

This is my version of a Spiral Vase.

It bases on a regular dodecagon (polygon with twelve edges) cross section that continiously transits into a circle.
The transition follows a spiral path with variable radius.

I printed this on my Prusa Mini in vase mode in Prusament Galaxy Black PLA and Prusament Ultramarine Blue PETG.
Both prints looks beautiful!

Print instructions

This geometry is designed to use vase mode.

I usually like to increase the extrusion width of the contours to achieve stiffer parts.
This way the printing gets a little more stable for tall and thin components, too (in my opinion).

I recommend using 0.6 to 1 mm.
The attached print file uses 0.9 mm.

If you'd like to achieve a watertight print I recommend to increase the bottom layers to 7 to 9 layers.
Furthermore, use 3 contour lines with about 0.45 mm width.
Moreover, an overlap of about 40% of contour and infill has proven in my case.
