General:

A simple box for an external power button for your computer featuring a self-closing magnetically-hinged guard. Double-sided tape is used to prevent it from moving when pressed.

• Note: the hinge piece can be printed together with the body or separately for ease of replacement/repair
  • if printing the body individually, it should be printed faced-down
  • the 16mm version with separate hinge and body pieces shown in pictures

Fasteners:

• 2-6x m3x8mm socket-head screws
  • 6 (or 4) screws are needed if printing the body and hinge separately, with 4 used for the bottom plate (or just 2) and 2 more to attach the hinge to the body
  • only 4 (or 2) screws are needed for the bottom plate if printing the body and hinge together.

Magnets:

• 2-3x 6x2mm small round magnets 
  • use 3 magnets (just stack them) if you want more “springiness” for the snap-back of the guard, see pictures
  • 6x3mm magnets should work as well

Other Necessities:

• Double-sided tape

Instructions:

1. Insert the power button into the body piece and attach firmly with nut (should have come with the button)
2. line-up the wires with the small arch in the rear of the body
3. attach bottom plate with 2-4x m3 screws
   1. they are screwed directly into the plastic of the body
4. push-fit the magnet into the hole on the surface the body
5. (optional) attach hinge to body if printed separately with 2x m3 screws
6. push-fit the magnet into the hole on the surface the guard
   1. make sure the magnet here repels the one on the body (i.e. same polarity)
   2. if the magnet fits too loosely, super glue can be use to hold it down
7. push the guard onto the hinge to attach
8. attach assembly to preferred surface with double-sided tape
