Update 2026-01-01:
I'm adding a revised version of this (v13) with updated thread tolerances to print on a wider variety of printers. You still need to use a 0.25mm nozzle and I recommend PETG as it oozes better than PLA and generally works better in small nozzles as a result.
Description
This is a tiny keychain pill canister for bringing a couple small pills with you. Most 3D printable pill bottles I've found are quite large - this one is tiny and intended for a couple of very small pills. The internal cylinder is 8mm diameter and 8mm tall.
Print Settings
The assembly in the pictures was printed at the following settings:
Printer: Prusa i3 MK3S+
Print Settings
0.25mm nozzle
0.07mm layer height
100% infill
75% speed
Filament: Prusament Prusa Orange PETG
Supports: Yes (for the lid just beneath the knurled ring)
Brim: none
Print Instructions
NOTE: All STL's are in millimeters.
Paint on some supports on the lid just beneath the knurled ring otherwise your printer will try to print in air.
Print the whole thing at 75% speed as it's quite small and needs time to cool.
Assembly Instructions
Carefully remove the lid from the supports, cleaning up any leftover support material.
Gently test out threading the lid into the body. If the threads are too tight, squeak, or otherwise seize up, print the lid at 99% scale.
Add a small split-ring through the hole in the lug.
Enjoy not forgetting your meds at home while out and about town!
