Project

A minimalistic battery storage solution to manage and keep AA batteries in pairs. Designed for 24 batteries (12 pairs). Pods can be flipped upside down when empty or when filled with used batteries waiting to be charged. The battery pod top secures to the bottom by pressure fit.

*** Update 2022/10/17 ***

Based on user feedback I have added:

• Pods that fit AAA batteries and are compatible with the original base.
• Pods that will keep four AA or AAA batteries together.
• Smaller 4-pair and 8-pair bases.

Printing

Print requires:

01 x Battery Pod Base

12 x Battery Pod Top

12 x Battery Pod Bottom

The included gcode file for the battery pod bottoms are grouped in twelve however splitting them up and printing in different colours is also an option as seen in the images.

Print Time (Approximate)

Battery Pod Base 

(0.4 mm Nozzle, 0.20 mm layer height, 15% Infill): 3 hours 21 minutes.

Battery Pod Bottom X 12

(0.4 mm Nozzle, 0.20 mm layer height, 15% Infill): 9 hours 45 minutes.

Battery Pod Top X 12

(0.4 mm Nozzle, 0.20 mm layer height, 15% Infill): 4 hours 56 minutes.

Material Used: AMZ3D (mixed colours)

Fill Density: 15%

Recommended nozzle diameter is 0.4 mm as some of the walls of the battery pod are 0.80 mm in width.

Post Processing

The battery pods in the images have been sanded just enough to be smooth to the touch. This is not required as the pods should fit in the base as is.

Compatibility

Only tested with Eneloop batteries but should work with other brands.
