Descrição
Add a simple footswitch to your project.
This was created to add foot switch inputs to my OBS scene switcher. (The cardboard thing in the project photos.)
This version requires 2 additional parts:
- Small binder clip
- Roller micro switch

Printer Brand:
Creality
Printer:
CR-10S
Rafts:
No
Supports:
No
Resolution:
.2mm
Infill:
15%
Notes:
3 perimeters, 3 top, 3 bottom layers.
The case and pedal are printed flat side down.
The clip is printed vertically with the "cap" flat on the bed. This all allows maximum strength and no supports.
Post-Printing
Step 0: Clean up (optional)
While the switch should work straight off the printer, it might be a bit noisy from scraping edges.
As printed, the "top" edges are diagonal ramps, and most printers will have a little blobbing in addition to the regular stair-stepping. These slightly flared edges will rub against the mating surface.
These can be easily cleaned up by sanding those top edges on the mating sides with a moderate grit (300-ish).
Step 1: Install the switch
Solder leads to roller switch.
I intended for the wires to be soldered at right angles to the lugs.
The wire tunnels at the base of clip have curved edges to aid in running wires through the base.
I put a zip tie on the line to provide strain relief.
Step 2: Install the spring
This design uses a spring that most 3D printers already have: a small binder clip!
The clip retainer just covers one arm of the clip and holds it to the floor of the case.
To lock the binder clip in place, I recommend using something gap-filling like epoxy or hot glue.
You can tape the clip in place with gaffer or duct tape to test out the tension before gluing in place.
To increase the resistance, just glue it down closer to the hinge.
Step 3: Attach the pedal
There is a groove in the pedal. Just make sure the pillar at the rear of the case sits firmly into that groove.
There are small pins that will lock it into place. It may require a bit of force to snap it in place the first time. Like many 3D hinges, you may need to "work" it a bit to loosen it up.
