For a while I have wanted to design and print a working camera so when I saw this contest I started working on it. This is my final design of my first prototype of my “switch blade shutter” but not my final prototype as The design needs some significant improvements to be a viable camera shutter. 

The mechanism is mostly 3D printed except for the M3 screws that hold parts of it together and the springs.

This is very much just a proof of concept I am currently designing another prototype but it is unlikely to be finished anytime soon. With that I figured I would submit my first prototype and see what people thought of it.

(P.S. I am aware of the differences between an OTF knife and a switch blade mechanism, I just liked the sound of switch blade shutter more 👍.)
