Descrição
A simple, quick-to-print design, borne of the necessity to afford a modicum of protection to this hardworking educational tool in its travels to and from school. Plus, who wouldn't want a Micro:Bit on their fridge or whiteboard?
Design
The design is a simple clip frame for a Micro:Bit v2. It has cut-outs for the USB and power cables and crocodile clip connectors. The design also provides options for screw-mounting or magnetic mounts. The design works well with the USB cable provided in the Go-kit, but if the plug on your USB cable connector is on the short side, then perhaps consider enabling the the USB cable "notch" option.
The OpenSCAD source has been provided (as well as the design files and gcode), so you should be able to easily customize the design for your needs if required. Hopefully the design parameters and code comments are self-explanatory.
The provided design is pretty light (about 8g), quick to print (about 50 mins on my Mini+) and thrifty on filament (~2.6m), so really the main question is; notch or no-notch?
Tips
- Try the magnetic version if you need to be able to access the reset button after the Microbit is mounted. Pressing the reset button is a bit tricky on the screw-mount version once the Microbit is installed.
- The magnetic version requires 2 of 10 x 2 mm circular magnets, just pop them into the print at the pause and resume printing.
