Modelo 3D Maker Box Filament Sample Spool por Dingoboy no Printables

Descrição

Shane @ Fugatech 3D Printing reviewed this spool as part of his January Maker Box video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBWand6m6G4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBWand6m6G4)

To address his concerns... because the size (diameter) of the wind on the Maker Box samples varies so much in my experience, I had to decide whether to make this on the smaller or larger end of the size range I measured among my samples. Because I wanted this to keep the filament neat & tidy on the spool, I opted to design it on the larger side of that diameter range. When I am using a sample that is smaller than the spool, I just lay the sample onto the hub, put my fingers into the inside diameter of the filament, & wiggle to expand it onto the hub. Easy peasy.

***At least 1 person said that they resized this to ~87% in their slicer & the result required no fiddling to get their MakerBox samples to fit.

This is my 2nd remix of the same original spool by Tamel55. The first time, I simply remixed his Small Spool to thicken the inner walls behind the threads for easier printing & added strength. This time, I just re-used his threaded center section to create a spool designed specifically for use with Maker Box filament samples. These tend to be about 40-50g each, and I measured a typical diameter of about 140mm on the loose filament- I think it generally uncoils to about the width of the baggie it's shipped in.

The innermost opening, where the spool is meant to go over the holder on your machine, is between 41-42mm. This was enough to fit the OEM holder on my Wanhao/Maker Select i3. The outer rim where the filament resides is 140mm. I can easily lay a Maker Box sample on one half of the spool, then lay the other half on top & screw it into place.

There are 50-degree angled anchor holes in the outer rim if you want to anchor your sample to the spool, as well as 50-degree angled anchor holes along the outermost edge to let you secure the business end of your filament sample so it doesn't go all squirrely on you.

***The anchor holes on each half of the spool are angled in opposite directions so you don't have to worry about which direction the filament goes onto the spool- you just use which ever holes line up properly.

***Due to a user requests, there are now 3 versions of this spool holder in the .stl files. One is printable on 200mm print beds, the others are broken into halves or quarters for smaller print beds (minimum 100x100), and would need to be glued together. I have not attempted to print & assemble these, but I imagine a good 2 part epoxy would be the best adhesive. And be sure to match the THREADS on the pieces before gluing together.

***PLEASE NOTE: This spool is meant to HOLD the Maker Box samples. One of those samples would never be enough to make one. Just to be perfectly clear.

Notes:

I printed this in MeltInk 3D purple PLA. .28mm layer height, 200C/60C, 50 mm/sec, 95% initial layer height, 125% initial layer width, 10% initial layer speed- the slow initial speed is important to ensure that the filament anchor holes in the outer edges come out clean & unblocked.
