This model was created for the self-watering planter insert I designed. I am trying various pot designs that bring out the joy of 3D printing. I use 1.5mm print walls in my design to save on filament but also have enough layering usually to make water tight from the printer. Small leaks or seepages can easily be fixed.

Print Recommendations:
I have used PLA in my tests with success for making a water-tight planter pot. I recommend a water holding test and if it leaks, its easy to make water tight as I list below.

• Recommend 100% infill for water-tight container
• .15mm layer height for detail
• no supports
• PLA or PETG

How to Test if Water-tight 
After printing the pot and it has cooled from the printing, fill with water and place on a dry paper towel and let sit over night. If the paper towel is damp or wet, then there is a slow leak or seepage. See how to make water tight below.

Making Water-tight if Print Doesn't Hold
I took this guide from another print and has worked well for me on many pots. Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue is waterproof and easiliy available at most hardware stores. Simply use a sponge brush and apply a generous coat on the inside of the pot and let dry for 24 hours. Test again and repeat as needed if leaks continue. I usually need only 1 coat but every once in awhile with complex prints a second coat is recommended.
