Basic armorer's bench block for use with a pin punch while gunsmithing.
I wanted a basic, light, durable, inexpensive version of an armorer's bench block/puck that can be made overnight while I was in an armorers course. I used PLA + at a .2 layer height, 5 walls, and 20% infill. It came out strong, light and inexpensive. Took less then 2 hours to print one.
It is a cylinder that is 75 mm in diameter and just over an inch in height. I went with three long cylinders and an elongated cube to cut out the holes and v groove. The V groove in the center seemed to work better than a round cut out to rest different size barrels in. The holes are 7mm, 10 mm and 15 mm. The 7 mm hole could hold the pin punch I was using upright. The 15 mm hole was close enough to the groove to allow a gas tube pin to be punched out when the barrel was in the groove. I tried using fuzzy skin around the outside for texture but it made no difference in use and added to the print time.
The files are for one armorer's bench block, 9 (filled build plate) armorer's bench blocks, and an armorer's bench block with FN Firearms logo cut out on the bottom.
