I searched for and tested several Kumuhimo discs, but many didn’t fit my needs. Some were too small, others didn’t hold the threads securely.

This is my own Kumuhimo disc design, which I’ve been using for a while. I use it to tie bracelet knots with beading thread. I believe it offers a great balance: the disc sits comfortably in the hand, holds the beading thread reliably, and—thanks to a relatively small central hole—builds good tension on the bracelet.

The disc has a diameter of 11 cm and a thickness of 1 cm, and features 32 slots that hold the thread quite snugly.

Note: Please test whether the slots work well with your specific thread. On my print, the slots fit quite snugly, which is intentional.

I printed this model in PETG. A two‑color print is theoretically possible (see photo).
