Modelo 3D Grid10 Pliers Rack por Mancow MacGyver no Printables

Descrição

Description

I’ve seen a lot of great tool organizer designs out there, but as an aircraft mechanic who’s constantly in and out of my toolbox all day (and with a son who’s also an aircraft mechanic), proper tool shadowing is non-negotiable for us. Instead of traditional foam, I wanted something far more durable, rugged, and with a cleaner-look. So I designed Grid10.

Grid10 is a modular 3D-printed tool organization system. The base plates hook together using simple 3D printed plastic “dog-bone” links. Accessories are secured with common #4 sheet metal screws.

This is the Pliers Rack Adapters. The photos differ slightly from the actual models. The prints in this file allow for simpler installation and better adjustment over a variety of widths.

Four different versions are available in three widths, 20mm, 25mm, and 30mm. Each is configured with either a flat base, a hump toward the front, a hump toward the rear, or a hump in the center. The hump is to keep your pliers from sliding out of the organizer. All are 60mm in height.

The Grid10 Base Plate

This is the foundation of the system — a universal organizer designed to fit nearly any toolbox drawer. Every plate includes grooves and pilot holes so you can securely mount a wide variety of tool holders, bins, and custom organizers.

Multiple sizes are available, along with edge and corner pieces to let you tile the drawer perfectly from edge to edge.

  • Magnet holes (10 mm × 2 mm) are included on the bottom if you prefer not to fill the entire drawer. (Note: holes are slightly loose due to magnet manufacturing tolerances — a drop of glue is recommended.)

  • Grooves are spaced 10 mm apart and designed at a 60° angle (2 mm wide at the top, 1.5 mm deep). This allows components to be fastened with a single screw while preventing rotation.

Important Notes:

  • Edge models (16 mm, 13 mm, and 10 mm) only have dog-bone link cutouts — no grooves or pilot holes.

  • “Edge” models have three sides with link holes and one blank side (these do include grooves and pilot holes).

  • “Corner” models come in RH and LH versions (e.g., 025×040 = 25 mm × 40 mm Right Hand, 040×025 = 40 mm × 25 mm Left Hand).

Metric to Imperial Conversion:

To convert mm to inches: divide by 25.4 Example: 10 mm ÷ 25.4 ≈ 0.394"

To convert inches to mm: multiply by 25.4 Example: 0.375" × 25.4 ≈ 9.525 mm

Example:

For a 19.25" wide drawer (≈ 488.95 mm), you could use a 240 mm + 230 mm + 16 mm plate (total 486 mm). The small ~3 mm gap is easily handled with the bottom magnets. Alternatively, swap the 16 mm for a 20 mm plate (total 490 mm) and lightly trim the edge for a perfect fit.

Filament:

I have used Sunlu PLA 2.0+ with great success on all of these prints. I have had no serious issues with warping or fracturing. Always print these models with at least three walls for maximum durability.
