The Modular Cascade Tower is a 3D-printed reimagining of the classic wooden musical marble tree. Designed with a clean, sculptural aesthetic, this modular desktop marble run lets you infinitely stack as many tiers as your heart desires.

Best of all? The entire print is designed with precise overhang geometry, making it 100% support-free with zero wasted plastic and clean surface finishes straight off the build plate.

Components

• The Base: A wide catch tray that acts as the base for the entire project. It anchors the tower securely to your desk and cleanly collects the marbles at the bottom of the run while not being too bulky.

• The Module: The core stacking unit of the tower. Each module features the sweeping teardrop paths that guide the marbles, along with the integrated twist locks. Print as many of these as you want to reach your desired height.

• The Cap: A clean half-sphere dome that snaps onto the very top module. It rounds off the core, giving the tower a finished look while anchoring the top of the design.

Recommended Print Settings

• Supports: None. This model is fully optimized to print clean without any support material.

• Orientation: All files are oriented for minimal supports, print as is.

• Material: Any would work.

• Bed Adhesion: Adding brim in your slicder can help minimize bed adhesion problems on the flat surfaces.

Assembly

To get the marbles cascading from top to bottom, the modules must be rotated as you stack them.

• 90-Degree Shift: When installing a new module onto the level below it, rotate it 90∘ in the same direction to engage the next set of tabs.

• Creating the Loop: Shifting each level ensures that the sweeping teardrop leaves align perfectly into a continuous, spiraling downward path. If you stack them straight without rotating, the tracks won't line up, and the loop will be broken!

• Locking it In: Once aligned, give the module a firm twist clockwise until clicks together to lock the modules securely into place. Repeat this 90∘ rotation for every module you add, all the way up to the cap.
