I always wanted to have a neat way to feed the friendly squirrels in our garden and this seemed like a fun opportunity to create something.

The basket is designed so it has a snug fit and doesnt fall out unwantedly, but it can still be removed easily. It also features drainholes so that it doesnt fill with water when it rains.

The model has 3 mounting holes that can be used however you like to mount the feeder to a fence or a tree. The center hole alone should already be able to support the weight of a fat squirrel, but I would still advise to use all 3.

The center beams have to be attached to the benches and top plate with glue. I recommend two part epoxy. 

Since this model is designed for outdoor use, make sure to print or post-process it in a way that it can handle outside conditions. 

Printing:

• Use at least 4 walls for extra strength
• All parts are designed to print laying down flat without any support if you have good bridges. Additional support adds minimal print time.
• Print the Structure twice
• Make sure to use weather resistant material like PETG or ASA
• The model is designed for 0.3mm tolerances, which most well-tuned machines should easily be able to handle. Make sure yours does though!
