Descrição
A cute bat to charm it's way onto your key-ring, or in my case, as a zipper pull.
No support required for the regular Bat Charm but support is required for the Double-Sided Bat Charm. Would probably work well with the technique of changing filament colors at different layer heights.
How I Designed This
1) Sketch
I sketched out a 2D design so that I got exactly the shape/style I wished and scanned it into a jpg.
2) Solidworks
Using the imported jpg, I modeled up the image with different extrusion heights acting as my cartoon lines that defined the individual shapes and features of my drawing. I exported the file as an STL. (Solidworks file is available) Using Solidworks gave me better control over the overall size of my charm, as well as the size of the hole that I could slip a keyring onto.
3) Meshmixer
Importing the STL from Solidworks, I then smoothed out the shapes so they were less stepped and had a more organic form. I also used Meshmixer to flip the shape, so it's repeated on the back for the double-sided version.
