Descrição
Simple, parametric wire spool holder for common small spools (AliExpress / Amazon types like Fermerry 20AWG sets).
Instead of keeping wires in flimsy boxes or loose on rods, this design stores each spool in a compact box with an internal core so the spool can rotate freely while feeding wire. The side opening allows smooth dispensing and a quick way to secure the wire end.
What’s different from the original
This is a full redesign based on the idea from HakiP’s modular spool holder:
No screws required
Strong snap-fit assembly (tested in PLA, PETG, ABS)
Fully parametric design (Fusion 360)
Adjustable to fit different spool sizes

Layer height: 0.2 mm
Perimeters: 2 ( Tested )
If you Use 4 Top/Bottom there is no need for Infill
Material: PLA / PETG / ABS
Tested with:
Prusament PLA, PETG
LDO ABS
All snap fits work reliably with proper tolerances, some force needed! :)
Important
Before printing:
Spool holder - Interrnal rotating core is an optional component if you use it
either:Use a little support or
Place the cut faces on the build plate
Repair if your slicer requires it
(Prepared examples included in the 3MF)
Parametric Setup
The model is fully parametric. To fit your spool, adjust these values:
Spool_Flange_Diameter – outer diameter of the spool
Spool_Barrel_Diameter – inner core diameter If you do not use the spool holder leave it!
Spool_Overall_Width – total width of the spool
Spool_Flange_Thickness – thickness of one flange
Everything else updates automatically.
Additional parameters:
Wiggle_Room – adds clearance for easier insertion/removal
Wall_Thickness – adjust strength vs. material usage
Scaling
The design can be scaled for smaller or larger spools using the parametric values.
For larger or heavier spools:
Increase Wall_Thickness
Adjust Wiggle_Room if needed

You can also emboss labels (AWG, length, etc.) on the top — example shown in the included 3MF.

I’ll try to generate the model for you and upload it to a folder.
There are many different spool variants (especially from unbranded/Chinese manufacturers), and most don’t provide exact specs, so community input helps expand compatibility.
Notes
Designed for small hobby wire spools (e.g. 14-30AWG sets)
Tolerances are tuned for easy snap-fit assembly
If parts are too tight or loose, adjust Wiggle_Room slightly
The Spool holder - Interrnal rotating core is optional. It was part of the original design I remixed and is included if you want a dedicated axle to help manually rewind your wire. If you are stacking the modules and don't need the rewind feature, you can skip printing the core. Plastic spools on Plastic just slide.
