The original filter housing for the HF 8gal black compressors is a piece of black plastic with some open celled foam in it.  When you inevitably hit that housing against something, it breaks off, leaving you without a filter on the intake.   This is the same shape housing, and you can even put the original foam in it, but this actually unscrews so you can replace the filter media.

I recommend you print in something sturdy, like PETG.  I printed with 6 walls, 50% infill to give it extra strength.  Print with supports so the threads stay clean.
