Darthwolf's clips are a great idea, but for me they just loosely sat in the laser bed and didn't really do anything.
Instead, I've redesigned it with wedged feet so that it squeezes in between the slots and can hold a piece down.

Added modular base and ends, allows you to clamp in different directions:
