Print the clockface first.
Then print the background/frame and glue the two together.
Tip: Dab small amounts of glue at points around the edge of the face and spread more glue under the body and head, before carefully lowering the clockface into the background frame.

Print the small circle & glue that around the numbers.  [Take time and a sharp craft knife to scrape off any glue that leaks out from under the ring onto the face.]

Print the eyes.  Use a black permanent marker to outline the eyes with a thin black border. 
Tip: You can stick the eyes to a piece of tape, to hold them, rather than try to hold them in your fingers while painting that line.

Wait for the eyes to dry, then push them into the eye-holes in the face.  Glue is optional for holding the eyes in.

Finally, select a clock kit motor and measure the width of the case at the battery compartment end.
The motor prop is sized to be a snug fit to a 56mm case.  Resize it if necessary, to fit your motor's case.
Tip: The inside space of the bracket should be approximately 0.2mm wider than the motor case.

Once the motor is installed on the clock, slip that bracket under the bottom edge of the motor, so that the prongs will press against the wall when the clock is hanging on a wall hanger.


Update, 12 April 2026:   My grand-nephew will soon be traveling with his clock, so I designed and printed a simple press-fit cover to protect it in his suitcase.  I have uploaded that cover, here. 
The sight-holes in the sides allowed me to verify that the base did not depress enough to reach the clock movement. 
CAUTION: This is a 0.2mm tolerance fit, deliberately designed to fall off easily when inverted.  Hold it on with a couple of elastic bands.  [I did not make a matching cover for the clock movement.  I had a small cardboard jewelry box that fit.]
