Update:

I designed an alterniative core, that houses a piece of addressable RGBW LED string (19 LEDs fit if you have a string with 144 LEDs/m), a Wemos D1 mini, the batteries, the charging board (HW168) and the little switch.

I used this LED strip, the core will fit light strips up to 12mm width. All other elctronics are identical to the ones used in the original core (see links below). Cable channels are again included.

Now you can program the beacon to flash or chase or do whatever in any colour you like. I recommend WLED - find more about the project here.

I designed this tiny light house / coastal beacon light after a style very commonly seen along the Norwegian coast. It consists of the outer decorative shell (3 pieces) and a core, that provides (static) illumination (also see the last picture).

You can just print the exterior and use it with no light or some generic LED candle. The .stl file splits into three pieces. The base and the transparent part are meant to be glued together. The roof works like a simple lid and is held in place by a flange.

The transparent part is designed to have two perimeters so it is a little more rigid than a "vase print", but is still transparent enough to function as a decorative light.

The core houses

• two rechargeable Lithium batteries (16340) like this,

• a USB charger unit (HW168) like this,

• three LED Edison filament lights (38mm) like this,

• a small resistor (12 Ohm) and

• a tiny switch like this.

It has all cable channels needed to install the wiring. It can be removed from the shell in one piece to be recharged so there are no switches or sockets on the outside of the beacon. The design of the core also makes sure, that no light shines through the base or roof of the beacon. Reduce infill to 5% for the core to reduce print time.

Maybe someone wants to build a different core that houses different electronics?  It needs to be 64mm (diameter) x 112mm height. The "lantern" sits between 80 and 110mm - measured from the bottom.

Ich habe einen zweiten Einsatz gebaut, der einen addressierbaren RGBW LED-Strip aufnimmt (19 LEDs, wenn man den Typ mit 144 LEDs/m verwendet, z.B. this. Außerdem ist Platz für einen Wemos D1 mini vorgesehen. Kabelkanäle sind wieder vorbereitet.

Der Einsatz nimmt LED Strips bis 12mm Breite auf. Mit diesem Einsatz kann man den Leuchtturm z.B. mit WLED auf beliebige Blink- oder Lauflichtsequenzen programmieren. Viel Spaß!

Ich habe eine kleines Leuchtfeuer gebaut - Beacons in diesem Stil sieht man sehr häufig an der norwegischen Küste. Es besteht aus dem Gehäuse (3-teilig) und einem Einsatz, der für die (statische) Beleuchtung sorgt (s. letztes Bild).

Natürlich kann man auch nur das Gehäuse drucken und eine passende LED-Kerze hineinstellen. Die .stl-Datei enthält alle Teile - und kann im Slicer entsprechend zerlegt werden. Der Fuß und die Laterne sind zusammengeklebt, das Dach funktioniert wie ein Deckel, der von einem überstehenden Rand gehalten wird.

Die Laterne ist so entworfen, dass sie mit 2 Perimetern gedruckt wird - das wird etwas stabiler als im Vase-Modus, ist aber noch transparent genug.

Der Einsatz enthält:

• zwei Li-Akkus Typ (16340) like this,

• ein USB Lademodul (HW168) like this,

• drei LED Edison Filamente (38mm) like this,

• ein Vorwiderstand (12 Ohm) und

• einen kleinen Schalter like this.

Alle Kabelkanäle sind vorbereitet. Der Einsatz kann zum Laden einfach entnommen werden. Von außen sind deshalb keine Schalter oder Anschlüsse sichtbar. Der Einsatz ist auch so designed, dass es kein Streulicht durch das Dach oder den Sockel gibt. Für den Einsatz reichen 5% Infill aus - das reduziert die Druckzeit.

Vielleicht möchte jemand einen alternativen Einsatz bauen, der andere Elektronik enthält? Der Einsatz sollte 64mm Durchmesser haben und 112mm Höhe. Die Laterne ist auf der Höhe 80-110 mm vom Boden gemessen.
