This is used to tie 2 GhostBed Split King adjustable bed frames together so they stay fixed in place.
We purchased the GhostBed Hybrid 12" Medium-Plush Mattress with Luxury Adjustable Base set from Costco in February 2026. Very happy with it — but the official solution for keeping the two frames together is a segment of Velcro to wrap around the adjacent legs. That may stop the frames from moving apart, but it won't stop them from moving closer together. They will also drop to the floor unless you get creative with how they are secured.
I think this solution is better.
Spacing
The GhostBed instructions give no guidance on how to space the frames. The GhostBed XL frames measure 37" wide, whereas the mattresses are 38" wide. That leaves a 1/2" overhang either side, so the bed frames should be spaced about an inch apart. I pulled them in a little closer .. with my ties, the frames are 7/8" apart.
With that spacing, these are the measurements between the inside surfaces of the legs:
Head legs: 365mm
Foot legs: 321mm
The diameter of the legs is 45mm.
Fusion and STEP files included if you need to adjust these for a different bed frame.
Model Features:
I opted for a 3-piece design to make this more accessible for people with smaller 3D printer build plates.
The end pieces include grip fins that flex and hold the ties in place. These fins are tolerant to different printer settings, materials, and variations in the diameter of the metal legs.
The fins are chamfered so they automatically center and slide onto the legs easily.
The center connectors use dovetails with a friction fit and snap into place.
Printing:
You need 4x end pieces, and 1x each of the head (long) and foot (short) connectors.
Orient the connectors with the long side down.
No supports needed.
Settings:
3 wall loops
Wall generator: Arachne <-- this produces stronger fins
To Install:
Join an appropriate connector to an end piece. Head legs -> Long connector, Foot legs -> Short connector.
Lift one leg up an inch and slide the end under it. As you lower, the end will self align.
Do the same for another end piece on the adjacent leg.
wiggle them up, align and snap the dovetails together
Adjustment Tips:
If you need to adjust this model for a different bed frame, the Fusion 360 file includes parameters to make this easy. To measure the distance between the legs, I put down paper on the floor and traced the leg profile, then measured that.
GhostBed info:
Some things about the Ghostbed I wanted to know but was hard/impossible to find:
The bed frame is not a 'zero clearance' frame, meaning you cannot place this on a flat surface like an existing slat bed. Many other adjustable bed frames do support this. There are parts of the mechanisms that drop below where the legs connect, and you'd have a hell of a job building a bespoke solution to avoid using the legs.
The remote for the Ghostbed does not use bluetooth.
