Small and compact handle for action camera was design for situations where space is at premium. Fitting into tight spots, like pockets of running vest, flexible body ensures that user is not being poked by hard plastic even when handle shifts around due to movement. Using hard plastic for a head assembly and metal screws means that camera is solidly attached and will not break off easily.

Bill of material

• handle body - printed in Flexible filament, print with fuzzy skin enabled or use preset from handl_flexible.3mf (recommended)

• handle insert - printed in Flexible filament, ideally on textured bed for improved grip

• handle head - printed in PETG, requires supports enabled

• 1/4 Inch Camera screw, ideally the quick release type

• cord_bead and cord_stop (slightly modified from original by random.ae) printed in PETG (optional)

• length of 1mm synthetic coard (optional) 

Construction

• Print all of the pieces

• Remove supports from handle head, supported surface does not need to be perfect, but double check that there are no remains of the support 

• Push flexible insert buildplate side up into handle head.

• Add screw through bottom of the the handle head and screw it through the insert using moderate force. It is expected that screw will cut though flexible insert a bit and will be retained by it.

• Screw completed head assembly on handle body.

• If using, measure length of cord and push it through lanyard hole in the bottom of the handle body.

• Add cord stop by squeezing it and threading both ends of the cord though.

• Add cord bead by threading both cord ends though.

• Tight both ends together using simple knot.

• Push cord bead over the knot securing it in place.

Usage

To attach camera, unscrew head assembly and use screw quick release ring (or flat-head screwdriver) to tighten camera the the flexible insert. Screw head assembly back to the body and tighten well.
