I love Polymaker filmament, and when they released their Polymaker Reusable Master Spool for Refills ([https://www.printables.com/model/1477612-polymaker-reusable-master-spool-for-refill](https://www.printables.com/model/1477612-polymaker-reusable-master-spool-for-refill)) I was super excited, until I realized that their refill spools have a couple of issues when it comes to using them with their regular cardboard spools.

• The notch in the Master Spools are too small for the cardboard spools (as seen in the image below)
  

  

• The inner diameter for the refill spools is smaller than the regular cardboard spools (as seen in the image below)
  

  

This was causing issues with my Qidi Box and Qidi Plus 4 with the spool not rotating correctly (never mind all of the other issues that the Qidi Box has with the Polymaker cardboard spools...).

There are a lot of colors that still aren't available in their refill spools, and I have a LOT of their regular spools, so I decided to create an adapter ring that fits over the Master Spool and solves these issues.

My spool adapter:

• Slides over the Master Spool axel and mates with the Master Spools notch

• Eliminates the gap between the Master Spool and the cardboard spool

This is the only thing that I've found that works consistently with my Qidi Boxes and my Qidi Plus 4s.

RECOMMENDED PRINT SETTINGS

Please make sure that you have calibrated your filament, especially shrinkage, as the tolerances are pretty tight. These are the setting I use when printing the adapters. Feel free to modify as needed to fit your printer(s) and filament.

• Layer Height: 0.2mm

• Filament Type(s): ASA or ABS (provides additional strength and you don't have to worry about what temperatures you're drying your filament at). Can also use PETG or PLA if you're not worried about temperatures.

• Bottom/Top Layers: 5/5

• Wall Count: 3

• Infill: 10%

• Infill Type: 3D Honeycomb

• Supports: Shouldn't need supports
