This project is a modular 3D printed frame system, similar in concept to aluminum extrusion profiles, but fully printable and based on rectangular tubes.
The frame is assembled by simply pushing together “male” beams with integrated clips and “female” corner and extension blocks, allowing you to quickly build lightweight structures such as boxes, small enclosures or prototype frames.
Printing notes:
Designed for FDM printers; PLA or PETG are recommended for stiffness and dimensional stability, ASA for outdoor use and higher heat resistance.
Vertical holes (printed along the Z‑axis) are dimensioned to fit well straight off the printer, while horizontal holes may require some cleanup with a hobby knife or small file depending on your printer tolerances.
The male clip/grabber mechanism has small overhangs and hooks; depending on your slicer and printer, you may need supports for these features (“supports from buildplate only” works well).
You can mix different beam lengths and corner types to build multi‑bay frames or connect several frames together.
Female parts
female extension 20mm.stl – short 20 mm extension block to connect beams.
female corner x 2.stl – 2‑way corner connector (L‑shape) for joining two beams at 90°.
female corner x 3.stl – 3‑way corner connector for typical box corners (X, Y and Z directions).
female corner x 4.stl – 4‑way connector for cross‑shaped junctions.
female corner x 5.stl – 5‑way connector for more complex nodes.
female corner x 6.stl – 6‑way connector for full 3D hubs where beams go in all directions.
Male parts (beams)
male 10mm end.stl – short end piece / stub beam, useful for tests or small details.
male 10mm double.stl – 10 mm double‑ended beam with male connectors on both sides.
male 25mm double.stl – 25 mm double‑ended beam.
male 50mm double.stl – 50 mm double‑ended beam.
male 75mm double.stl – 75 mm double‑ended beam.
male 100mm double.stl – 100 mm double‑ended beam.
male 150mm double.stl – 150 mm double‑ended beam.
male 200mm double.stl – 200 mm double‑ended beam for larger frames.
