Descripción
If you are interested in Cryptography, then this customizable cipher wheel is for you! It has a basic Caesar Cipher on it, which will allow you to encrypt or decrypt messages by rotating the top disc to line up the letters in a different method. (This means if you rotated A→ N, you would get ROT13.)
Customizable in browser over at MW.
Feel free to customize:
The letters on the wheels, including adding numbers and symbols!
The order of the letters, including a reverse feature (Atbash cipher).
The size of the wheel (three sizes for simplicity, but there is a parameter for the radius in the code.)
The text! Add your name, or a fun phrase!
The font of the text!
You can make a number of different cipher wheels and use them to encrypt/decrypt messages!
If you plan on printing anything with small text, a 0.2 mm nozzle is recommended! Even the medium sized set has some gaps in the letters with the 0.4 mm nozzle.
One easy change: Add a special character or numbers → giving you an Alberti cipher or an improved Caesar.
Another change you can implement, multiple discs! This would give you an Vigenere Cipher! This would work well if you:
start with a Large bottom disc (you will need to make the peg h variable longer for the additional discs that will be stacked on top).
Then make a medium stack, and change Peg/socket → Bolt Hole, so the bottom medium disc will go onto the Large bottom disc.
If you want more than 3 discs, you can make a small set, also with the Bolt Hole, so they stack.
Alternatively, you can just make them different radii in the settings.
When printing: You can switch filaments during the print in order for the letters to standout more! I uploaded a print profile for you to use.
Have fun!
