To be honest, I am tired of dealing with the Gordian knot on my LED light chain every Christmas 🎄. Therefore, the power supply, along with five meters of lead cable, is inserted into the spool core, and the remaining fifteen meters of LED lights are wound onto the spool.

Print instructions:

• Material: PLA, PETG

• Layer: 0,2 mm

• Perimeters: 2

• Infill: 15%

• Supports: No

• Brim: No

This model requires some special settings, more details in the attached 3MF file.

 Custom modification:

There are many manufacturers of Christmas lights, and each may use a different power supply. Before printing, please verify that the opening inside the spool is large enough for your specific power supply, ideally including the power cable. Based on my own power supply, I chose an internal spool diameter of 54 mm and a length of 150 mm.

However, if you find that these dimensions do not suit your needs, you can customize the original model in OnShape by simply changing two parameters:

#tube_len: the length of the spool, default value is 150 mm.

#outer_dia: the outer diameter of the spool. The default value is 60 mm. To achieve the desired internal diameter, you must subtract twice the wall thickness (2x3 mm), which gives you the aforementioned 54 mm.
