To hang huge LED panel lights from the ceiling, I was in need for hooks which can be attached easily by a screw and where a rope or wire can be threaded afterwards. Since I have no idea about cold deformation over time or how much force a part like this can take, I think I went a bit over in terms of size and print settings ;)
I've printed this using PETG HF, 5 walls and 5 layers top and bottom while the part is placed sideways on the print bed to avoid separation of the layers when a weight is applied. This requires the usage of support but with using tree support the material wasted is quite minimal.
One remark, it would be a better way to use a flat head screw and a washer instead of a cone headed screw since the later might split the hook when tightened too much. So if you want to hang on really heavy stuff then go for the flat head screw.
The dowels are printed as well, you can find them in my model collection too.
