I needed a simple, functional document protector/holder....I remember seeing these cheap, thin plastic things when I was a kid floating around libraries, schools, city/county buildings and thought it would be perfect. This design was inspired by those containers, but of course I wanted to really dive in. I wanted to understand the geometry for the snap fit type of mechanism (which is fairly common) and its tolerance -AND- retain a uniform contour inside and out. To give it a little more of a challenge, keep it simple but utilize advanced design elements, just to do things differently. A few other conveniences were baked in at the end, designed as a multibody part so you can print in multiple color (I chose not to). Supports are not required and DFM for a .4 nozzle. I am also testing PCTG durability, the one I printed for myself will primarily live inside a back pack it is the prototype version.
There are two different cylinders:
1) Designed for 8.5"x11"
2) Designed for 11"x17"
If you would like additions for tethering, anchoring etc...feel free to message and I will incorporate your request into the design.
