I wanted to get into full sized server racks, but didnt really want to jump straight into buying all of the hardware to do so. The result was this! Its surprisingly rigid, and has held up quite well with the hardware I have installed.
The frame is constructed out of vertical sections (there are several lengths to choose from). Each section is attached to its neighbors via the rear gusset plate, which helps to avoid them flexing. The two sides are held together by the x shaped cross beams, as well as the hardware that is actually installed in the rack.
Most of the assembly is done with M6 hardware, with the exception of pieces that extend front to back. These are split into sections in order to be printed on smaller print beds, and are assembled using M3 hardware.
