This project was created out of a practical need to organize a growing number of filament spools without sacrificing printer workspace and without adding another barely-stable shelf.
It is a modular, side-mounted filament storage system, designed primarily for IKEA LACK stack enclosures, but easily adaptable to other furniture.

Features:

• Fits 4 x 1kg spools,

• Two holders fit on one side of the LACK table,

• Using easily available Ø12 mm aluminum tubes for rigidity,

• Compatible with any LACK stack,

• Designed for PETG printing. (PLA should also work for passive storage)

Printing instructions:

• Infill: 20–30%,

• PETG recommended,

• No supports needed,

• Print parts according to the orientation presented in .3mf file for maximum strength and durability

Assembly Instructions

1. Insert the long aluminum tube fully into the bottom holder. It should be a tight press fit. If needed, use pliers wrapped in electrical tape to avoid damaging the tube.

2. Insert the M3 nuts into their pockets in the side brackets and insert the screws, but do not tighten them yet.

3. Slide the side brackets onto the long vertical tube.

4. Attach the bottom holder to the lower LACK tabletop using wood screws.

5. Insert the M5 nuts into the top holder and attach it to the upper LACK tabletop using wood screws.

6. Install the top holder lock in the top holder and tighten it lightly to secure the vertical tube.

7. Press the end caps onto one end of each short aluminum tube. Insert the opposite ends into the side brackets.

8. Adjust the side brackets to the desired height and fully tighten the bracket screws.

9. Final check: make sure all screws are tight and the structure is stable.
