When designing a project that uses a limit switch, I often run into two recurring problems:

• How to mount the switch cleanly.

• How to adjust its position without reprinting the whole design.

This model is a simple clip system for standard limit switches using M3 hardware, designed so you only need to reprint the clip while you dial in the perfect position. This model was designed for this limit switch.

Included files

• Negative mounting holes model – use this to place the mounting holes where you want your limit switch to go in your main part.

• The limit_switch_mount_clip – the main clip for holding the switch.

• Clip variations – several pre-made offsets so you can tweak the switch position without modifying your main model.

• A limit_swtich_mount_clip_no_holes– a blank clip you can customize.

• negative_clip_holes – lets you move the clip mounting holes wherever you need them.

• OpenSCAD source – for editing dimensions and hole placement parametrically.

How to use

1. Use the negative mounting holes model to add switch mounting holes to your project where you think they should go.

2. Print the limit_switch_mount_clip and test the switch position in your build.

3. If it’s slightly off, print one of the clip variations to nudge the position until it feels right.

4. If none of the presets fit, print the no-holes clip and combine it with negative_clip_holes to create your own custom hole locations.
