The Augerbot is designed to traverse traditionally difficult terrain like snow and mud. The Auger bot is able drive forward/backward, rotate, strafe. The majority of the chassis and frame is 3D printed. The controllers consist of a NodeMCU and an Arduino Nano. The NodeMCU creates a wireless access point network so that any android device can connect and send commands via UDP packets via a custom app. The NodeMCU controls the Nano via a serial wire. The Nano controls the 2 continuous rotation servos using PWM. The servos can be controlled independently with speed and direction. Further improvements would making a version 2 with 4 independently controlled augers with PID control, & use a ESP32-Cam as the network access point and view the camera stream via custom app.
I used 10mm bearings and a 3/8" aluminum rod for the axle
