Another holder to hold your power tools upside down on their handle.
There are other holders already and they are fine. I wanted to have my power tools at hand and ready to go directly. So I wanted to store them with battery. And the other holders I have seen simply didn't look trustfully to me. Or better, I did not trust to hold my tools also in a year, or two or three. I mean I have hear so much about prints deforming or failing when under load for too long…
So I decided to create my own version of a power tool handle. The main difference is that I use the anyway necessary screws as main structural element. They are longer than I would normally use to attach something to the wall, but they are, so they go through the full length of the arms. The screws shouldn't deform. Even after years 👍
The attached files (step and stl) are fitting for my Bosch Professional drill/driver and also for my Worx secondary tools. Two 4,0 x 80mm Torx screws are necessary for every holder.
Since I had to made the fitting loose to compromise for these two brands, so it is likely that they will also work for other brands without any modification. Simply because the tools have to fit human hands, there can't be much more different sizes of the handles 😃
But if modification is necessary there are also the FreeCAD files attached (I hate it if I have to remodel stuff, so I attach these, too). There is a VarSet where all important values are configurable and the design gets updated (this should work as long as the values are not too extreme).
There are two versions of the holder:
Power Tool Holder
This is the final and most recent version
This is the version I would use and print now
Power Tool Holder.3_holes
This is a legacy version and I added it more for completeness and because it might be useful for someone
This was created first and this is also what I printed and can be seen in the photos. But while installing them I realized that the third smaller screw actually is doing nothing. It was rock solid without the smaller screws. I added them anyway, because the empty holes where hurting my sense of completeness. So afterwards I revisited my design, removed the third screw and made it better
