I have a new 3x3m (3x10ft) extension ladder that needs to be stored 99.9% of the time. These hooks did the job!
To make the hooks as strong as possible, I used the hollow cylinder design technique from the 50g hook that can lift 1000 lbs., ([https://www.printables.com/model/1412750-polymaker-hook-challenge-winning-hook](https://www.printables.com/model/1412750-polymaker-hook-challenge-winning-hook)) and I printed in PETG-CF (Tinmorry brand works awesome for me and is not expensive).
The bottom rail hook is designed for a 65mm rail (actual space is 69 mm). The top rung hook is designed for 30x30 rungs (actual space is 34 mm). The hooks are long enough for a 3 piece extension ladder, so should be adequate for most applications. If you need a different dimension let me know and I will upload.
All parts, including the ring that screws to your ceiling, use the hollow cylinder design, and should be printed with 5-6 perimeters. I printed the ring on it's base, but you could print on it's side (with support) to be much stronger.
Take your time installing these on the ceiling – it's very difficult to keep the all your screw holes in a line perpendicular to the adjacent wall when you're looking straight up. Install one pair of hooks (M5 screws), put the appropriate end of the ladder into the hooks, then swing the other end of the ladder up to mark the correct location on the ceiling. You want an accurate measurement, no more than 50mm error. (You'll probably want a helper for this step.) I installed the bottom rail hooks first.
