What is this?

These are customisable cryotube inserts that fit nunc and other standard cryotubes tops. You can colour them to your hearts content and make it easier to find your tubes in the deep freeze. They're printed on a 10x10 grid to make it easier to organise and print.

Please note that using cryotube dots are no substitute for labelling your samples correctly! 

Customising

Printing

Nozzle size - 0.25mm for lettering, 0.4 for plain
Layer height - 0.2mm
Filament - Your choice; PETG is reported to be more stable in liquid nitrogen and PLA has more colours. Your milage may vary!

Insertion

Setting them in is easy, you just need a pencil or something to force them in. the side of the tube clips off the extra tags

Removal

Removal is a little more tricky. Each dot is printed to have 3 tension springs to hold it in place so they're less likely to fall out. To remove the dot insert a paperclip in one of the holes and remove.
