Spark Plug Holder for servicing spark plugs during aircraft engine maintenance

Design

There are several designs available for download, each labelled accordingly.

1. The car type spark plug holder is for engines that are adapted for car type plugs, typically Amateur Build category running PMags etc. It comes with a tray for holding washers and adaptors.
2. The Champion and Tempest spark plug holder has been sized to fit aviation plugs and should fit most brands. It stands higher from the bench to accommodate the extra plug length.
3. The universal handle fits both flat six layouts.
4. I've added labels on my own prints to show forward and aft. This should allow them to be used interchangeably with both Continental and Lycoming engines. However the text is not part of the STL file.

Printing

I would suggest printing it with a temperature resistant filament such as ABS. The design has been printed in ABS and tested with a spark plug heated to 180°c (350°f) with no deformation. However it is recommended using plugs well below this temperature.

Disclaimer

Aviation spark plugs are expensive. Please do your own due diligence on the integrity of these holders to ensure that they are suitable for your needs. The handles should be glued securely into place, and a functional check performed before loading up with plugs. All the usual caveats apply.
