A good-looking modular frame. All parts are printable on a 180x180mm bed. If you print just the corner pieces and four joint pegs, you'll get a nice frame for a 4" square picture. To increase the length of any side, add side extensions of 1", 2", 4", 8", or any combination thereof. Plus an extra peg for each. Thus all Imperial photo sizes from 4"x6" to 16"x20" and beyond are easily created. To fasten each piece to the next, print a square peg and press it in. To retain a picture up to 2mm thick, print four corner backs and glue them on.

Example Parts Lists for Some Common Art Sizes

• 4"x6" needs 4 corners and backs, a pair of 2" side extensions, and six pegs. Estimated print time and total mass of filament are based on this size.
• 5"x7" needs 4 corners and backs, a pair of 2" side extensions, two pairs of 1" side extensions, and ten pegs.
• 8"x10" needs 4 corners and backs, a pair of 2" side extensions, two pairs of 4" side extensions, and ten pegs.
• 11"x14" needs 4 corners and backs, a pair of 8" side extensions, a pair of 4" side extensions, two pairs of 2" side extensions, a pair of 1" side extensions, and fourteen pegs.
• 16"x20" needs 4 corners and backs, three pairs of 8" side extensions, a pair of 4" side extensions, and twelve pegs.

Notes

• A millimeter or two at each edge of the picture will be hidden by the frame.
• The corner backs that I provide are meant for use without glass. I prefer to keep my pictures free of glare.
• One good way to mount this frame on a wall is to fasten Command™ picture-hanging strips to the corner backs.
