Descrição
This is a jig to help you hang picture frames. In particular, it is intended for frames that don't already have hanging hardware - the jig will simultaneously mark where to put the nail hole in the wall and where the attach the hanging hardware.
The jig was designed with the pictured hanger hardware in mind and happens to be going on a shadow box, but it should work on a regular picture frame with any hardware that has a nail slot and a screw above and below it.
If your frame already has hardware, then you should also be able to enter its location into the customizer, omit some of the thumb tacks, and have the jig locate where the nail should be placed.
Post-Printing
To use the jig, you will need 6 thumbtacks. Insert them into the recessed circles so that they poke through to the other side. Some of the small holes through which the thumb tack points go has a 1-layer-thick membrane to aid with printing without supports. Simply pierce the membrane with the tack.
(Note: the print used here was the prototype which has some extra holes that are not present in the final version)
The side with two tips pointing through will go against the back of the frame and mark where you should attach the hanger hardware.
The side with one tip pointing through will go against the wall and make a mark where you should put the hanger nail.
Press the thumb tacks into the frame, and press the frame against the wall.
The marks left by the tacks indicate where to hanging hardware should go. The mark on the wall is where the hanger nail should go.
