Modelo 3D Gridfinity 2x2 bin for basic stapleless-stapler, with SourceCode por MacLemon no Printables

Descrição

This 2x2 Gridfinity bin keeps your stapleless-stapler neatly organised on your desk. You can still use while docked in the bin. Yet, it's easy to take out if you need a little more force to staple a few more pages.

The stapler's shape is traced close-enough to keep in in place tightly. So it won't wiggle around when you use it in the bin. It will release easily with one hand though in case you want to remove it.

It's also easy to slide back in and will lock in place automatically.

Features

  • all the Gridfinity goodness you'd expect
    • sharp contours that follow the stapler
    • stackable with other Gridfinity bins when there's no stapler docked
    • accepts common disc magnets (∅6mm × 2mm thicknet)
    • magnet holes do sport droop compensation
  • Stapler can be use while docked
  • center line of the Gridfinity grid gives you a good indication where stapling occurs

Stapleless staplers?

Yes, you can staple together multiple pages without the need of a metal staple. This works by punching an enlongated hole into the sheets and then folding that slip back through a slit on the opposite side. No need to buy consumable staples over and over again.

The model shown in the photos works fine with up to 4 pages, while your stapler is docked as shown. For up to 7 pages you'll want to take the stapler out of the bin so you can apply the required force. This stapler is not suitable for more than 8 pages at a time.

You can find this model (and several others) on the website of large online marketplaces and retailers. They often come in an affordable multi-pack, so you can gift one to a friend. And also infect them with Gridfinity while you're at it. :-)

Cleaning out debris

Unlike hole punchers these staplers do not generate any debris or confetti that you need to clean out.

Always stays clean, since there is no debris generated by the stapler.

Recommended print settings and requirements

This is an easy print.

  • The 0.20mm STRUCTURAL preset in Průša Slicer works perfectly fine.
  • No supports needed
  • PLA works just as well as PET-G. Just go with the colour you like
  • Or just use the .3mf with all the print settings in detail that I personally use as shown above.

Printing this model takes about 1h 50 minutes including ironing and 35g of filament. (Time measured with 0.20mm STRUCTURAL preset with an 0.4mm high-flow nozzle. Printed in PLA on an Original Průša CORE ONE.)

Full ironing increases print time to 2h 21 minutes. It'll give you a great looking surface underneath the stapler as well. Though you won't be able to see it most of the time.

When using a fancy silky filament, you may want to print without ironing. Reducing print time to 1h 12 minutes. The orange/purple dual-extrusion filament shown in the photos was printed just like that, without any ironing.

Dual-extrusion filaments make for an interesting look on your desk.

Designed with love by a human

Like all my models, this bin was designed without any AI in OpenSCAD.

Gridfinity Features

  • Accepts the usual magnets at the bottom to keep your bin safely in place. (6mm ∅ × 2mm disc magnets)
  • Without a stapler this bin is stackable
