Modelo 3D Small Desktop Stackable Drawer System por faultedlogic no Printables

Descrição

After seeing my makes of Ember's “Ender 3 Pro Utility Drawer”, my wife asked if I could make her a little chest with similarly sized drawers, for use with her sewing crafts.  I decided to make her chest modular, so it wouldn't be outgrown.  This way, when she needs another drawer, we can simply print another drawer and housing and add it to the existing chest.

For those who want a rigid chest with a finite number of drawers, multiple housings can be glued together.  For my wife's use, I'm leaving the housings separate so she can select the drawer's containing the components she needs for a particular project and stack them conveniently for her project.

I wanted the drawers and housings to be rigid and durable, yet not take forever to print, so I settled on 2mm walls for both pieces.  Since the drawers will be handled more than the housing, I reinforced all four corners to improve the strength of the 2mm walls.

Each of the drawer housings has four tapered feet beneath them, and tapered recessed openings on each of the housings tops.

I print both parts as they're oriented in the STL files, and use no supports for the housing, but use “normal” supports “touching buildplate” for the drawer to support the drawer pull.  That single support separates easily in a single piece by using a pair of slip-joint pliers.

I've been printing the housings “as is”, but have been adding the fuzzy skin to the outside of the drawer while slicing.  The fuzzy skin adds significantly to print times, but I really like how it hides layer lines, resulting in a model that doesn't look so printed.

Ember's “Ender 3 Pro Utility Drawer” model, from which this design was heavily inspired, is available at:  [https://www.printables.com/model/722882-ender-3-pro-utility-drawer](https://www.printables.com/model/722882-ender-3-pro-utility-drawer)

I'm including a two tier, three tier, and four tier version of the drawer housing for those who know how many drawers they'd like to have in their miniature chest before printing.  The advantage in those is two fold.  No gluing required for those who want a multi-drawer system, and the height of the chest will be 2mm shorter for each additional tier.  The same feet on the bottom and depressions on the top are present on the multi-tier housings so they are also fully stackable amongst themselves and any combination of 1,2,3, or 4 tier housings.  I only included housings up to four tiers since making them any larger will require a larger than 220mm X 220mm heated bed, which will allow them to be printed on most FDM printers.  If somebody has a large enough bed to print housings for more than four drawers and doesn't feel like remixing this, I wouldn't be opposed to including additional versions, just ask.

While the drawer included with this system has the same look and feel as that of Ember's original “Ender 3 Pro Utility Drawer”, it's been completely remodeled to maximize internal storage space while reducing print times and material costs.  The exterior dimensions have been slightly expanded on all three axis's, however, this drawer maintains backwards compatibility with Ember's design as well as the two remixes I've posted.  I thought, rather than maintaining multiple sized drawers for specific tasks, that I'd like to have one model to fit multiple applications.
