I always wanted an amazing spiderman style door lock for my room, so I built a basic rack and pinion mechanism to work with a mini servo to slide it up and down. 

Modify the diameter of the end of the rack to fit the diameter of the pin on your door lock. 

I personally use it with a mini servo connected to an ESP for ESPhome to work with my Home Assistant. 

Red - 5V(Vin)

Brown - Ground(GND)

Orange - PWM(Any PWM pin on an ESP or other microcontroller)

Slide the rack in and keep the servo at the lowest position(0 degrees) and then calibrate it by testing manually what the highest position is for locking the door.
