Modified from my original design without the use of radiotbo's cad model
This is the original SLM heatshield I created for the VZbot Goliath hotend. It replaces the original silicone sock which is only good up to 300C.
It is recommended to make this shield out of titanium due to its poor thermal conductivity but stainless steel does work. This can be done via any slm website (I suggest in3dtec).
You will want a 10mm fibreglass sock between the hotend and shield to protect it from drafts and prevent thermal runaway. When heating for the first time it is suggested to run a filter inside of a closed chamber as the sock may off gas.
Longer M2x6 hardware can be ordered in titanium or steel. Stock hardware will work but you'll lose a little over 1mm of thread.
Thanks to YBG dog on discord for the help with instructions!
