🛠 Prototype PCB & Component Holder

A practical holder for prototype PCBs and components that makes soldering and assembly easier. Features an adjustable arm and modular mounting system for boards and components, making it suitable for most small and medium DIY projects.

🪛 Required parts:

Female brass 3.5mm inserts – for component holder legs (quantity as needed).

Plate, 2.5mm thick (e.g., 165x130mm plexiglass) for the base. You can use any size or 3D print a flat plate (2.5mm thick) to your preferred dimensions.

Small printed bolts (3 pieces):

2x for the component holder

1x for the adjustable arm

Optional M3 screws for additional mounting stability.

🖨 Printing parameters:

Material: PLA or PETG (PETG recommended for heat resistance during soldering)

Layer height: 0.2 mm

Infill: 30% (or higher for stability)

Supports: Not required

Brim: Recommended for small parts

🪢 Assembly:

1 Print all required parts.
2 Insert the 3.5mm brass inserts where needed (or use screws if you prefer).
3 Attach the adjustable arm and component holders using the printed bolts.
4 Screw or glue the holder onto the base plate.
5 Done – you can now securely mount your PCB and components for soldering.

ℹ Notes:

You can easily scale this project for larger PCBs by adjusting the base plate dimensions.

Optionally, you can add crocodile clips or banana sockets to the holder for easy probing.

For heavier boards, consider using a heavier base (e.g., a steel plate with a printed top).
