Herringbone planetary gear fidget on a comfort fit ring you can spin!
| Random seam position is required for it to be able to spin. See Required Print Settings below. |
A very quick print that uses ~ 2.6 grams of filament.
Ring sizes are listed as the diameter in millimeters. To convert to a country-specific ring size, use this chart: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_size](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_size)
An example 3MF file is included to show the required print settings. Print the ring-top by itself, or use Output options > Complete individual objects, to avoid any potential stringing between objects, and to maximize print quality.
I printed mine with Prusament Orange PETG, but PLA should also work.
Unfusing the Gears/Breaking in your ring
After printing, the gears will probably be lightly fused together. This is normal! Holding the outer ring gear, carefully screw on the ring-finger part, and keep twisting after it is fully seated until it breaks the gears free. Depending on your printer, you may need to help it along by flexing the ring-top back and forth a bit on each planet gear, but it should break free.
After the gears unfuse, keep spinning it for roughly five minutes back and forth, or carefully roll it up and down your leg. Once broken in, it should spin freely.
