I purchased a “for parts” Kodama Trinus off eBay having no idea what it was or it's history. The Trinus was a Kickstarter 3d Printer that never took off. It was designed to be a 3D printer with the option to add a laser toolhead. Because of this, the frame is all cast aluminum with X and Y lead screws. It's a little tank.
I decided to bring it up to modern specs with a full Klipper install. I added the following:
-BTT SKR Mini E3 V3 Board
-V0, 120x120 heated bed
-Rapid Burner toolhead
-Sherpa Mini Extruder
-Updated X and Y motors
-Raspberry Pi Zero 2
-Meanwell LRS350 Power Supply
-Power Inlet Switch
-Side spool holder
Because of the dense motion system and small size, I am currently printing at 600mm/s with 8000mm/s2 acceleration. The motion system is capable of higher acceleration but I kept getting motor skipping. I may upgrade to LDO speedys in the future.
Thank you to @SquirrelBrain for the TicTac design as I used his heat bed bracket to install a V0 bed on the Trinus.
Thank you to @PhilM for the BTT mount.
Thank you to @Chirpy2605
I printed all parts in ABS GF with the exception of the heat bed bracket which I printed in Polymaker PA6-CF20. I also annealed it in an emersion circulator.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
